The Tanzania Meteorological Authority (TMA) has alerted the public to the potential impact of Cyclone DIKELEDI, currently positioned along the Mozambican coast.
In a statement released on Tuesday, TMA reported that the cyclone is expected to re-enter the Mozambique Channel this afternoon. While it is unlikely to have a direct effect on Tanzania, its proximity to the southern coastal regions may result in short periods of heavy rainfall, particularly in Lindi and Mtwara.
TMA also warned of strong winds and high waves in the region, forecasted to persist through today and tomorrow.
Citizens have been advised to remain vigilant and adhere to updates and guidance from the meteorological authority
