Ghana’s President John Dramani Mahama has appointed former communication minister Edward Omane Boamah as the new defence minister, according to a statement from the presidency on Tuesday.
In addition to this key appointment, the presidency also announced that retired lieutenant colonel Larry Gbevlo-Lartey has been named as a special envoy to the Alliance of Sahel States (AES).
Furthermore, former Finance Minister Seth Emmanuel Terkper has been appointed as the presidential advisor on the economy. These new appointments reflect President Mahama’s ongoing efforts to strengthen Ghana’s leadership and international relations.
