Former Nigeria Flying Eagles striker, Akor Adams has completed his transfer from French Ligue 1 side, Montpellier to Spanish La Liga club, Sevilla in a deal valued at €5.5 million.

The transfer was confirmed by renowned football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday. “Exclusive story confirmed: Akor Adams joins Sevilla from Montpellier on €5.5m deal. He’s just landed in Spain with his agent,” Romano posted.

The 24-year-old forward had a challenging season at Montpellier, scoring just three goals and providing one assist in over a dozen appearances. This marked a significant dip in form compared to his strong debut season in France, where he netted seven goals after joining from Norwegian club Lillestrøm.

Adams’ arrival at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium could further limit the playing time of fellow Nigerian Kelechi Iheanacho, who has yet to feature for Sevilla in over a month.

Currently sitting 11th in La Liga with 26 points from 20 matches, Sevilla are hoping that Adams can regain his scoring form and help the team avoid relegation struggles in the second half of the season.
