The Federal Government has announced that the final evacuation flight conveying 315 Nigerians from South Africa is scheduled to arrive in Lagos on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday by its spokesperson, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa.
According to the ministry, the evacuation flight, to be operated by Air Peace, will depart South Africa at 1:30 a.m. and is expected to land at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos at about 6:30 a.m.

The evacuees are Nigerians who opted to return home following recent xenophobic attacks and growing security concerns in parts of South Africa.
The government had previously conducted four evacuation flights, returning hundreds of Nigerians to the country as part of efforts to safeguard its citizens abroad. The most recent flight brought back 40 returnees.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to the safety and welfare of Nigerians wherever they reside and commended all agencies and stakeholders that contributed to the successful evacuation exercise.
