Nigerian duo of Joe Aribo and Paul Onuachu scored in Southampton’s 2-1 victory over Ipswich, securing their second Premier League win of the season on Saturday evening .

Aribo opened the scoring in the 21st minute, capitalizing on a goalkeeping error by Arijanet Muric. Ipswich equalized 10 minutes later through Liam Delap, who slotted past Aaron Ramsdale.

In the dying moments, Onuachu sealed the win, pouncing on a rebound after Kamaldeen Sulemana’s shot was parried by Muric. The victory leaves Southampton bottom with nine points from 24 matches, still eight points from safety.

Liverpool moved nine points clear at the top with a 2-0 win over Bournemouth, thanks to a Mohamed Salah brace. The Egyptian converted a 30th-minute penalty and added another, taking his Premier League tally to 178 goals, surpassing Frank Lampard.

Bournemouth, who had beaten Arsenal and Manchester City this season, threatened but were denied by Alisson’s crucial saves. Liverpool now sit on 56 points from 23 matches, though Arsenal could close the gap to six points with a win against Manchester City
