The Sokoto State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of more than 10 worshippers, including an Imam, during early morning (Subhi) prayers in Bushe, a community in Sabon Birni Local Government Area.
Police spokesperson DSP Ahmed Rufai stated that security forces, including the Nigerian Army, are working to rescue the victims.
According to local sources, armed men attacked the mosque on Thursday, January 6, 2025, kidnapping worshippers despite the presence of security personnel in the area.
A state lawmaker confirmed the incident and commended security agents for their swift response.
