Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty has departed for Washington to meet top US officials and members of Congress after former US President Donald Trump suggested relocating Gazans to Egypt and Jordan.
His visit aims to strengthen US-Egypt bilateral relations and discuss regional developments.
Meanwhile, Egypt has called for an emergency Arab summit on February 27 to address the situation in Palestinian territories.
Cairo has been rallying Arab allies, including Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, against Trump’s proposal, which has sparked global backlash.
Arab nations firmly reject the plan, advocating instead for a two-state solution with an independent Palestinian state alongside Israel.
