Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister, Murat Nurtleu, made the announcement during his meeting with Morocco’s Foreign Minister, Nasser Bourita, in Rabat.

The two leaders discussed strengthening trade, economic, and investment ties, as well as expanding contacts in cultural and humanitarian spheres.

The visa-free agreement is expected to come into effect soon, allowing for increased cooperation in sectors like energy, transport, agriculture, digital technologies, innovation, education, and tourism.

Kazakhstan sees Morocco as a crucial partner in the Middle East and North Africa region, with over 30 years of diplomatic relations.

The two nations also discussed the upcoming Astana International Forum in May and the 8th Congress of World and Traditional Religious Leaders.

Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister expressed interest in cooperating with Morocco on digitalization, particularly within the framework of the “Digital Morocco 2030” program.

Bilateral trade between Morocco and Kazakhstan is expected to grow significantly, with a 70% increase last year, reaching $274 million.

The visa-free regime is anticipated to further boost economic cooperation and people-to-people exchanges between the two nations.
