A senior police officer, CSP Modestus Ojiebe, attached to the Kwara State Police Command, has been abducted by suspected armed men along the Kubwa Expressway in Abuja.
Sources revealed that the incident occurred late Sunday night near Dei-Dei Barracks after Ojiebe’s Toyota Corolla broke down. While attempting to fix it, an ash-colored Mercedes-Benz with four armed men stopped behind him.
The assailants robbed Ojiebe and his wife of their mobile phones and ATM cards. However, upon discovering his police identity card, they forced him into their vehicle and sped off, leaving his wife and car behind.
Following the abduction, the Dawaki Divisional Police Officer (DPO) dispatched a patrol team to the area, and security agencies have intensified stop-and-search operations at key entry and exit points in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to locate the officer and apprehend the kidnappers.
