Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka has criticized the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation’s ban on Eedris Abdulkareem’s song “Tell Your Papa”, which criticizes President Bola Tinubu’s administration over the worsening economy and hardship in the country.

Soyinka described the ban as a return to the culture of censorship and a threat to the right to free expression, echoing past attempts to stifle artistic and socio-political commentary in Nigeria.
