Popular Lagos socialite Emeka Okonkwo, known as E-Money, has been freed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) after hours of questioning over alleged Naira abuse.
E-Money was arrested at his Omole residence in Lagos and taken to the EFCC office in Abuja for questioning.
The EFCC had alleged that E-Money abused the Naira and defaced foreign currencies, specifically spraying US dollars, which is against the Foreign Exchange Act.
After his release, E-Money took to Instagram to celebrate, posting a video with the caption, “No tension, everywhere good, I see all your love and support. God bless you all.”
Another socialite, Cubana Chief Priest, also celebrated E-Money’s release on his Instagram handle.
The EFCC had not confirmed the release as of the time of reporting.
