West Ham Defender, Aaron Wan-Bissaka has received his first call-up to the senior national team of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) ahead of their international friendlies in June, marking a major milestone in the defender’s international career.
The 27-year-old former Manchester United right-back, who has made 35 appearances across all competitions this season, will join the Leopards for their matches against Mali on June 5 and Madagascar on June 8, 2025.

This selection represents a full-circle moment for Wan-Bissaka, who first featured for DR Congo at the under-20 level in 2015 before choosing to represent England in various youth categories. Now, he is set to reconnect with his Congolese roots and begin a new chapter with DR Congo’s senior side.
His inclusion is seen as a significant boost for the national team, as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of upcoming competitions. The two fixtures will provide Wan-Bissaka an opportunity to make his mark on the international stage and solidify his role within the team.
