Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah has been named the Football Writers’ Association (FWA) Men’s of the Year for the 2024/25 season.
The Egyptian who helped Liverpool win the Premier League title, claimed the men’s award after scoring 28 goals and providing 18 assists – a record-breaking tally for goal involvements in a 38-game Premier League season. He also added three goals and four assists in the Champions League, where Liverpool reached the last 16.

The 32-year-old Egyptian, who recently signed a new contract keeping him at Anfield until 2027, received 90% of the vote from more than 900 FWA members – the largest winning margin this century. Team-mate Virgil van Dijk finished second, with Newcastle’s Alexander Isak third and Arsenal’s Declan Rice fourth.
Salah now joins French legend Thierry Henry as the only player to have won the FWA award three times.
