President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Lagos to attend the 50th anniversary celebration of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
The presidential jet landed at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport around 4:15 pm on Tuesday, where he was received by Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and other top government officials.
The 50th anniversary celebration is expected to be a significant event, marking five decades of ECOWAS’s efforts to promote economic integration, peace, and development in West Africa.
The occasion will likely bring together leaders and dignitaries from across the region to discuss progress, challenges, and future directions for the organization.
As the President of Nigeria and a key figure in West African regional politics, Tinubu’s presence at the celebration underscores the importance of ECOWAS in promoting regional cooperation and development.
The event may also provide an opportunity for Tinubu to engage with other leaders on pressing regional issues and to reaffirm Nigeria’s commitment to the ECOWAS community.
