The Benue State government has declared Wednesday, June 18, a work-free day in honor of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s one-day visit to the state.
According to the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs. Deborah Aber, the visit aims to commiserate with the government and people of Benue over the incessant security challenges.
While essential service providers like health workers, security agencies and banks are exempted from the holiday, residents are encouraged to turn out in large numbers to welcome the President and his team.
This visit was initially scheduled to be to Kaduna State, where Tinubu would inaugurate several state government projects, but has been rescheduled to Benue State as part of renewed efforts to promote peace and tackle ongoing conflicts.
