The injured are receiving treatment at Damaturu Specialist Hospital and Yobe State University Teaching Hospital.

The Gotala community is located near the Sambisa forest, where Boko Haram insurgents have been active for over a decade.

The insurgents’ activities have posed significant challenges to the region, and this recent incident highlights the ongoing security concerns in the area.

The victims’ families have called on the Yobe State Government to reconstruct the dilapidated road to prevent further attacks.

They expressed concerns about the safety of the communities and military formations in the area, emphasizing the need for urgent action to address the security situation.

As of now, the military has not issued any official statement regarding the incident. The incident serves as a reminder of the persistent threats posed by insurgent groups in the region and the need for continued efforts to ensure the safety and security of civilians.
