As excitement builds for the 2024 TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced plans to unveil a brand-new trophy for the competition as part of its ongoing commitment to elevate women’s football across the continent.
The new trophy will be officially launched on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, in Morocco — the host country of this year’s tournament. The unveiling will take place in partnership with title sponsor TotalEnergies and is in line with CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe’s vision to grow and develop women’s football in Africa.
According to CAF, the new trophy will be revealed across its digital platforms on Wednesday afternoon, followed by an official trophy presentation event later in the evening with CAF sponsors.

The highly anticipated WAFCON 2024 tournament kicks off on Saturday, July 5, at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat. Hosts Morocco will take on Zambia in the opening match scheduled for 21:00 local time (20:00 GMT / 23:00 Cairo / 22:00 Lusaka).

Further details and design elements of the new trophy will be made public during Wednesday’s launch. Fans can follow the trophy reveal live via CAF’s official channels on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
