The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 74 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud in Abuja.

The suspects were apprehended on Monday during a sting operation at Joyous Hotel in Nyanya, a suburb of the Federal Capital Territory, following credible intelligence linking them to cybercrime activities.

In a statement on Tuesday, EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale disclosed that the operation also led to the recovery of 86 mobile phones, a pistol, and three motorcycles.

“The suspects were arrested on June 30, 2025, after credible intelligence pointed to their involvement in internet-related offences,” the statement said.
Oyewale added that investigations are ongoing and that the suspects will be charged to court upon conclusion of the probe.
