According to Air Peace spokesperson Osifo-Whiskey Efe, the aircraft “veered slightly off the runway without any damage”. The airline reassured the public of its commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards in all operations.

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has yet to comment on the incident, which comes years after a similar occurrence at the same airport in 2019 and a recent incident in May where an Air Peace flight collided with an antelope at Asaba International Airport.
