Ose Anenih, son of the late Chief Tony Anenih, a founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has announced his resignation from the party, effective immediately.
In a letter dated August 18, 2025, addressed to the PDP Ward Chairman of Arue Ward 3 in Uromi, Edo State, Anenih cited deep personal reflection and a desire to step back from active partisan politics as reasons for his decision.
He expressed gratitude to the party and its members for their support over the years, while reaffirming his commitment to Nigeria’s progress and pledging to remain engaged in intellectual and civic discourse that promotes good governance.
Anenih’s resignation comes at a time of heightened political activity in Edo State, where the PDP is grappling with internal dynamics while preparing for upcoming electoral contests.
His departure is likely to spark conversations within the party about its direction and cohesion in the region.
Despite his exit from the party, Anenih emphasized that his dedication to Nigeria’s development remains “unshaken” and he will continue to contribute to conversations that seek to improve governance and the lives of citizens.
