The 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) has reached the knockout stage, with the quarter-finals set to kick off on Friday.
In a historic outcome, all three tournament co-hosts—Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda—topped their groups to secure spots in the last eight, marking an unexpected East African hat trick.

The quarter-finals will be staged across two days. Kenya, winners of Group A, will face Madagascar in Nairobi on Friday, while Tanzania take on defending champions Morocco in Dar es Salaam.
Saturday’s fixtures will see Sudan clash with Algeria at the Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar, before Uganda go head-to-head against Senegal in Kampala.
The winners will progress to the semi-finals, scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, with the grand final set for Saturday, August 30, at Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi.
