The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared Christopher Enweremadu, a former Abia State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, wanted in connection with allegations of criminal conspiracy, diversion of public funds, and money laundering.
The EFCC identified Enweremadu’s last known address as the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Umuahia, Abia State, and is urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact any of its zonal offices.
The commission’s investigation into Enweremadu’s activities stems from a court order in December 2024, which instructed the EFCC to investigate the management of funds allocated to 17 local government areas in Abia State from 2019 to 2023.
Enweremadu, along with two other former state officials, was also ordered to surrender their international travel documents as part of the investigation.
