Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has visited former Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, to commiserate with him over the recent attack on his convoy in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State.
During the visit, Atiku called on Malami not to relent in his efforts to defend Nigerians against anti-democratic forces, emphasizing the need to protect democracy from imminent threats.
Atiku expressed dismay over the growing trend of violent attacks targeting key figures of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) across the country.
He reaffirmed the coalition’s commitment to rescuing democracy from the stranglehold of the emerging dictatorship, stating, “We will be unrelenting in defending the rights of every Nigerian being harassed by anti-democratic forces of the Tinubu-led APC administration.”
Malami, who recently defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the ADC, appreciated Atiku’s visit and highlighted the incident’s implications on democratic institutions.
He noted that the attack serves as a stark warning against the politicization of violence and deliberate attempts to undermine democracy for partisan gain.
