Somtochukwu Christelle Maduagwu, a journalist and anchor with Arise News, will be laid to rest on October 18, 2025, in Agulu, Anambra State.

Maduagwu tragically lost her life on September 29, 2025, during an armed robbery at her residence in Abuja’s Katampe area, where she reportedly jumped from her apartment’s third floor to escape the attackers.

A series of tributes will be held in her honor, including an evening of tributes on October 12 at the THISDAY Dome in Abuja, and a service of songs on October 15 at the Corpus Christi Cathedral in Port Harcourt.

Her funeral mass will be held at St. Theresa Catholic Church, Agulu, preceding her burial.

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has arrested 12 suspects linked to the robbery, with confessions revealing the gang sourced firearms from the Niger Republic.

The suspects allegedly confessed to their involvement in the robbery and other related crimes.
