An advance team of Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, was attacked by unidentified gunmen near Sam Mbakwe Cargo Airport in Imo State early Tuesday.
The three-member team was traveling to the airport when the incident occurred, but fortunately, no one was injured, and they escaped unharmed.
According to the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Ukoha Njoku Ukoha, the main convoy was not involved and was nowhere near the scene.
Security agencies have been notified, and investigations are underway to identify and apprehend the assailants.
