Brumelda Zuma, daughter of former South African President Jacob Zuma, has been sworn in as a Member of Parliament, representing the opposition party uMkhonto weSizwe (MK).
This comes after her half-sister, Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla, resigned from parliament amid allegations of tricking 17 men into fighting for Russia as mercenaries in Ukraine.
Brumelda Zuma stated she will focus on ensuring South Africans have “good public services,” citing her degree in public administration.
The appointment reinforces the Zuma family’s grip on the MK Party, with critics labeling it nepotistic.
