A fuel tanker crash and explosion in Likomba, southwestern Cameroon, has claimed the lives of at least eight people, with several others injured and taken to the Tiko district hospital.
The driver lost control of the truck due to brake failure while descending a hill, crashing into cars and buildings before exploding.
The incident has destroyed tens of houses and vehicles, with emergency responders warning the death toll could rise.
Cameroon frequently experiences fuel truck blasts due to poor road infrastructure and unroadworthy vehicles, resulting in hundreds of fatalities annually.
