The Federal Government has temporarily opened Section 1 of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, a 47km stretch from Ahmadu Bello Way junction to Eleko village junction, to ease traffic congestion in the Lekki-Ajah corridor.
Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, announced the opening, stating that the government has fulfilled its promise to the people.
The highway is expected to be completed in eight years, with Section 1 and half of Section 2 scheduled for completion by April 2026.
The project spans 700km, passing through nine coastal states, and is projected to cost N4 billion per kilometer.
