Proceedings resumed on Monday at Southwark Crown Court in London in the corruption and bribery trial of former Nigerian Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke.
Alison-Madueke has pleaded not guilty to multiple charges bordering on corruption and bribery, all linked to alleged misconduct during her tenure overseeing Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.
Prosecutors allege that the former minister received large sums of cash and luxury benefits in exchange for using her influence to secure lucrative energy contracts, accusations she has consistently denied.
