The shutdown, expected in a month, is part of the MMIA Rehabilitation and Expansion Project.

The move follows a recent power outage at the terminal, caused by a fault in the changeover circuit.

FAAN apologized for the disruption, citing the terminal’s “long-standing infrastructure limitations” and said installing permanent backup equipment isn’t feasible due to the rehab.

The authority appreciates passengers’ patience, reaffirming its commitment to a safer and more reliable passenger experience.

The rehabilitation is part of over N900 billion contracts approved for aviation sector upgrades in August 2025.
