A French national has been found dead in northeastern Chad, with early indications pointing to an accidental fall from a cliff.
The Chadian army discovered the body near Amdjarass, where the International Festival of Saharan Cultures was taking place.
The tourist, who had appeared weak, was reported missing on Wednesday, prompting a search operation.
The French foreign ministry confirmed it was in contact with Chadian authorities, and further details will be released once the body arrives in the capital, N’Djamena.
The incident highlights the risks associated with adventure tourism in remote areas.
