Suspected members of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) attacked a Nigerian military camp in Pulka, Borno State, late Saturday night, setting the facility ablaze and causing several casualties among military personnel.
Eyewitnesses reported heavy gunfire lasting approximately one and a half hours. The attack comes amid ongoing insecurity in Nigeria’s North-East, with ISWAP fighters targeting fishermen, farmers, and traders in the region.
The military has responded to the incident, but details on the outcome of counter-operations remain unclear. This attack follows a recent abduction of five civilians in Doro Baga, Borno State, by suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP fighters.
