The Chief Imam of Lagos has officially declared Wednesday, February 18, 2026, as the first day of Ramadan 1447AH.
He announced after confirmation from the Sultan of sokoto that new moon has been sighted in some parts of Nigeria tonight.
Muslims in Nigeria and around the world will observe Ramadan with fasting, prayer, and reflection, seeking spiritual growth and community bonding.
The month-long observance is expected to conclude on Thursday, March 19, 2026, with Eid-al-Fitr celebrations.
