The Nigerian Senate has confirmed Jamila Abubakar-Sadiq, a retired Rear Admiral, as National Electoral Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), representing the North-East geopolitical zone.

President Bola Tinubu nominated Abubakar-Sadiq on February 17, and the Senate Committee on Electoral Matters, led by Bako Lalong, reviewed her credentials and screened her before recommending her confirmation.
