Albert Mazibuko, a legendary member of South Africa’s iconic group Ladysmith Black Mambazo, has passed away at the age of 77.

Mazibuko, who joined the group in 1969, was a key figure in shaping their sound and spreading their message of peace, love, and harmony globally.

Mazibuko’s contributions to South African music are immense, having helped bring isicathamiya, a traditional Zulu a cappella style, to international audiences.

He was also part of the group’s collaboration with Paul Simon on the acclaimed album Graceland.
