The Department of State Services (DSS) has re-arraigned former Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, and his son, Abdulaziz Abubakar Malami, before Justice Joyce Abdulmalik of the Federal High Court in Abuja on an amended charge bordering on alleged terrorism and unlawful possession of firearms.
At the resumed hearing, DSS counsel, Akinlolu Kehinde, informed the court that an amended charge had been filed to replace the earlier one and requested that it be read to the defendants for fresh pleas.

Counsel to the defendants, Shaibu Aruwa, confirmed receipt of the amended charge and did not oppose its reading in court.
According to the prosecution, the defendants allegedly prepared to commit acts of terrorism in December 2025 by possessing, without a licence, a Sturm Magnum firearm, live cartridges, and expended ammunition in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State.
They were also accused of conspiring to commit the alleged offence, contrary to provisions of the Terrorism (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2022.
Both defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Following their plea, the prosecution sought a trial date, while the defence requested that the court allow the defendants to continue on the bail earlier granted.
Justice Abdulmalik granted the request, ruling that they should remain on the existing bail conditions already met. The case was subsequently adjourned to May 26 and June 15 for trial.
