Romanian coach Marian Marinica has resigned from his position as head coach of the Zimbabwe national football team, the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) announced on Monday.
ZIFA said the 61-year-old stepped down due to undisclosed personal reasons. Marinica was appointed in November on a one-year contract.

He previously managed Malawi and Liberia before taking charge of Zimbabwe.
During his tenure, Marinica led the Warriors to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, where they were eliminated in the group stage after draws with Angola and defeats to Egypt and South Africa.

Following his departure, former Zimbabwe captain Kaitano Tembo has been named interim coach. He will lead the team at the upcoming Unity Cup tournament scheduled for May 26–30 in London, which will feature Zimbabwe, India, Jamaica, and Nigeria.
