Governor Bala Mohammed and members of the Bauchi State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are currently holding an expanded stakeholders’ meeting where a major political decision is expected to be announced.
There are strong indications that the governor and party stakeholders may declare their defection to the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) at the end of the meeting.

Before the session went into a closed-door arrangement, the State Chairman of the PDP, Samaila Burga, said the party had engaged in wide consultations over its political direction, particularly in relation to the interests and concerns of aspirants.
He noted that a decision had already been reached and that Governor Mohammed would formally brief stakeholders on the outcome.
The expected move is reportedly linked to unresolved internal crises within the PDP, as well as unsuccessful reconciliation talks with both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The meeting is still ongoing, with an official announcement anticipated at its conclusion.
