Chiamaka Nnadozie is targeting a strong finish to her debut season with Brighton & Hove Albion Women as she eyes the Women’s Super League Golden Glove award.

The Super Falcons goalkeeper has recorded six clean sheets in 18 league appearances, placing her among the leading contenders for the prize awarded to the league’s top shot-stopper. She currently trails Ayaka Yamashita, Hannah Hampton, and Phallon Tullis-Joyce, who each have seven clean sheets.

Brighton have two fixtures remaining in the campaign, both at home, against Arsenal Women and Tottenham Hotspur Women. Nnadozie will need clean sheets in both matches to boost her chances of claiming the award and potentially becoming the first African goalkeeper to achieve the feat.

Beyond clean sheets, the 24-year-old has impressed statistically, boasting the best save percentage in the league at 74.4 per cent. She also ranks second in goals prevented (3.50) and third in saves per 90 minutes (3.20), underlining her consistency throughout the season.

In addition to her individual pursuit, Nnadozie will be aiming for silverware as Brighton prepare to face Liverpool Women in the Women’s FA Cup semi-final at the BrewDog Stadium this weekend.
