A fire outbreak on Wednesday razed parts of a commercial building complex in the Tejuosho area of Yaba, Lagos State.
Videos shared on social media showed thick smoke billowing from the affected structure as emergency responders battled to contain the blaze.
The Lagos State Fire Service was seen at the scene attempting to put out the fire.
A social media user, identified as @BluishChrissie on X, claimed firefighters initially struggled to gain access to the affected section of the building.
“This fire at Tejuosho, hope it is contained quickly. Fire service has arrived, and they don’t know how to get to the fire,” the user wrote.
As of the time of filing this report, the extent of damage caused by the incident had not been confirmed, while no casualty had been officially reported.
Authorities in Lagos State had yet to issue an official statement on the cause of the fire or the scale of destruction.
