Ahmed Galadima, former executive secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund, has won the All Progressives Congress governorship primary in Adamawa State.
Chairman of the governorship primary election committee, Innocent Bariko, announced the result in Yola on Friday. He said Galadima secured 414,444 votes to defeat other aspirants.
Abdulrazak Namdas, a member of the House of Representatives, came second with 86,004 votes. Abdulrahman Haske placed third with 65,424 votes.
Galadima, 62, holds a bachelor’s degree in agriculture from the University of Ibadan, obtained in 1988, and a master’s degree in banking and finance from the same institution in 1998.
On Thursday, Salihu Mustapha, immediate past north-east vice-chairman of the APC, withdrew from the race and declared support for Galadima.
