Three young men from Jos were kidnapped on Monday while traveling home from a business trip, and their abductors are now demanding ₦30 million to release them.

The victims — Kweti Jonathan Menje, Habila Sunday, and Samuel — are all from the Jenta Adamu community in Jos North LGA, Plateau State. According to the Jenta Adamu Central Youth Council, they were returning from Akure, Ondo State when gunmen stopped their commercial vehicle on a Kogi highway and forced them away.

The council said the kidnappers have contacted the families directly, asking for ₦10 million per person. They threatened to kill the men if the money isn’t paid before their deadline.

“It’s created fear, pain, and anxiety for families and the whole community, especially with the economic hardship right now,” the youth council said in a statement Tuesday.

Community leaders confirmed the families’ accounts and are now pleading with the federal government, Plateau and Kogi state governments, plus security agencies to step in fast and secure their release. They’re also asking the public to pray and share any information that could help rescuers.

As of Tuesday, the Kogi State Police Command hadn’t released an official statement on the abduction.
