At just 16, Osasere Okundaye has made history by becoming Nigeria’s youngest Chartered Accountant.
The teenage student’s achievement was celebrated on Monday by Ayodele Olawande, Minister of Youth Development. In a statement, Olawande praised Okundaye’s “hard work, discipline, resilience, and unwavering commitment to excellence.”
He called her success proof of “the limitless potential of Nigerian youth,” adding that it shows what young Nigerians can accomplish with determination, dedication, and support.
Olawande also thanked Okundaye’s parents, family, teachers, and mentors for their guidance and sacrifices. He said their role was key to her milestone.
“This achievement reinforces our confidence that Nigeria’s future is bright in the hands of focused, talented young citizens,” the minister added, reaffirming the Federal Ministry of Youth Development’s commitment to empowering youth.
Okundaye’s record comes a year after Temilola Blossom Arise, an 18-year-old Economics student at the University of Ilorin, passed all five papers in the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, ICAN, professional exams.
