A Norwegian court of appeal has acquitted former Flying Eagles midfielder Daniel Daga of sexual assault charges, his club Molde FK confirmed on Thursday.
The Frostating Court of Appeal delivered a unanimous verdict clearing the 19-year-old Nigerian footballer, according to a statement released by Molde FK.
Daga had earlier been sentenced in March to six months in prison over an alleged sexual assault involving an unnamed woman, an incident said to have occurred in April 2025. He was formally charged in December 2025.

Following the earlier conviction, the midfielder was suspended indefinitely by his club pending the outcome of the appeal process.
However, with the latest ruling, Molde FK said Daga would now be eligible to resume his playing career with the Norwegian side.
“Daniel Daga has been unanimously acquitted in the criminal case that has been heard by the Frostating Court of Appeal. Molde FK takes note of the verdict,” the club said.
The club added that it recognised the matter had been “serious and stressful” for all parties involved and noted that it had continually assessed the situation in line with its responsibilities as an employer.
Daga, who represents Nigeria at under-20 level, joined Molde at the start of the 2025 season and has made 15 appearances for the club, scoring three goals.
