A Federal High Court in Maitama, Abuja, has ordered the forfeiture of five properties linked to former Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman, to the Federal Government.
Justice James Omotosho issued the order on Thursday, July 2, 2026. Mamman is currently serving a 75-year jail term after his conviction for corruption and money laundering.
In the ruling on a final forfeiture application by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, the court permanently forfeited Walijam Apartments at No. 43, Plot 435, Lobito Crescent, Wuse 2, Abuja.
Justice Omotosho held that the EFCC proved the property was acquired with proceeds of unlawful activities.
The court also granted an interim forfeiture order on four other assets. They are:
- Bloom Luxury Suites Nigeria Limited, No. 5 Amana Crescent, New Estate, Unguwan Rimi, Kaduna State
- A mansion, No. 11 Misratah Street, Wuse 2, Abuja
- Another property, No. 13 Misratah Street, Wuse 2, Abuja
- A.U.A Plaza, Plot 734 Kade Street, Wuse 2, Abuja
The judge directed the EFCC to publish the interim forfeiture order in a national newspaper within seven days. Interested parties have been given the opportunity to appear in court and show cause why the four properties should not be finally forfeited to the federal government.
Mamman was prosecuted by the EFCC on an amended 12-count charge of corruption and money laundering involving N33.8 billion.
Justice Omotosho convicted him on all counts on May 7, 2026, and on May 13, 2026 sentenced him to 75 years imprisonment.
During the trial, the court said, some assets believed to be proceeds of crime were already recovered from the former minister. The judge further ordered Mamman to refund N22 billion traced to him by the Commission.
