Troops in Borno have arrested a 28-year-old pregnant woman suspected of transporting essential items to Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters.
The suspect, Falmata Adamu, was intercepted on July 13 during routine checkpoint operations along the Mandaragirau–Biu road, according to security sources who spoke with counter-insurgency publication Zagazola Makama.
During a search, soldiers said they found items concealed in her clothing. The recovered items included 17 torchlights and 19 Tiger batteries, which authorities suspect were destined for a terrorist enclave.
Adamu was taken into custody. Preliminary investigations are ongoing to identify the intended recipients and determine any links to terrorist logistics networks.
The arrest is part of Operation Hadin Kai’s continued push to cut off supply channels feeding insurgents in the North-east.
Military officials added that while the security situation across the theatre remains relatively calm, troops are maintaining heightened operational readiness due to the unpredictable nature of the insurgency.
