Suspected bandits have killed a former Director of Personnel Management (DPM) of Ngaski Local Government Area in Kebbi State, Alhaji Nasiru Mohammed, during an attack on his residence in Yauri Local Government Area.
The attack reportedly occurred around 2:30 a.m. on Friday in the Low Cost area of Yauri, when armed men stormed Mohammed’s home in an apparent attempt to abduct him.
According to reports, the former local government official resisted the abduction and was shot dead by the assailants. His body was later recovered within the premises of his residence.

The gunmen also abducted Mohammed’s wife, Rukayyatu Abdullahi, along with another resident, Malama Maryam Sale, a teacher at Abarshi Secondary School, Yauri. Their whereabouts remain unknown.
Security operatives were said to have responded swiftly to the attack, engaging the suspects in a confrontation that reportedly led to the death of one of the attackers. A vehicle believed to have been used by the gunmen was also recovered at the scene.
Security agencies have launched efforts to rescue the abducted victims and track down the fleeing suspects, while investigations into the incident are ongoing.
The killing has left the Yauri community in mourning, with residents expressing shock and grief over the tragic loss.
Funeral prayers for the late Nasiru Mohammed were scheduled to take place on Friday after the Jumu’ah prayers.
