Nigeria’s D’Tigress have ended their 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup campaign with a heavy 111-56 defeat to France on Sunday.
The African champions struggled to match France’s intensity and quality throughout the game, eventually losing by 55 points to suffer their third consecutive defeat of the tournament.

France established control from the early stages and maintained their dominance until the final buzzer, leaving D’Tigress with little opportunity to stage a comeback.
The defeat brings Nigeria’s World Cup campaign to an end after the team failed to meet expectations at the tournament.
D’Tigress will now shift their focus to the next round of qualifiers, with the team expected to use the experience from the World Cup as motivation to improve and return stronger.
