Suspected thugs blocked the convoy of Peter Obi in Benue State on Tuesday morning.
The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, was said to have run into a stick-wielding mob on Boko Road as he tried to enter the state.
According to reports, the incident happened around 11:48 am. Details of what led to the blockage are still unclear.
Obi’s team was attempting to access the state at the time of the incident.
Authorities have not yet issued an official statement, and the situation is still developing.
