The City of Durban in South Africa hosted the first-ever Continental Championship in 2023. The CAF African Schools Football Championship Continental Finals will be played tonight with the opening fixture at 18h30 local time (15h30 GMT). The success of the CAF African Schools Football Championship is a partnership between CAF, African Governments, Member Associations and Schools. It is supported by the Motsepe Foundation who donated 10 million dollars towards the Programme.

In the Girls U-15 category, Morocco will play South Africa at 15h30 GMT (18h30 local time) in what is expected to be an exciting feature. In the Boys U-15 category, Guinea, the defending champions, will face Tanzania.

The Winners of both the Boys’ and Girls’ competitions will each receive USD 300 000 prize money. Runners-up will each receive USD 200 000, while the bronze medallists will each take home USD 150 000, courtesy of CAF’s partnership with the Motsepe Foundation to be utilized for development projects within schools.
